Yes. I do listen to OSTs from games I haven't played as well, when it comes to retro.

This song in particular, if I gad to rate it would probably be a 7. 1. I have to particular attachment to the series, so the resonance might be not as appreciative as someone who grew up playing it. 2. I love how it starts from the beginning, building up to a different tune a few seconds later. However it becomes a little repetitive, as most did. Cycle 15-20 seconds on repeat. But it's a good beat.
