A lot of you seem to have forgotten Zetsu's abilities.



White Zetsu's ability is to create to clones of himself. These clones are not regular clones, they are living beings that don't disappear when killed. It's not that the Demonic Statue of Outer Path lets you make a ton of clones of whatever you want. All Madara did was send chakra from the statue into Zetsu and then had Zetsu use his clone ability to make an army.



White Zetsu is the only one seen using the clone ability. You can see him use it when Madara saves Sasuke after killing Danzo and when Kisame succeeds in attaching himself to Bee.



White Zetsu, including the clones can take the form of anyone zetsu has touched. They can use their jutsu, have the same type of chakra etc. I don't think it has said whether or not they can use bloodline limits.
