iso a good romance (happy/sad doesn't matter) with nice looking art style and... maybe a non wimpy main char.

Probably one of the most dramatic romances I have ever seen. It's a pretty long series but it was pretty good considering it is not one of my favorite genres.

I mean for a 2003 anime and still ranked 137 according to mal, there has to be something good about it.
