Can anyone explain the sage of 6 paths things to me? started reading the manga only recently.

the only reason pain beat him was because he could regen his bodies and Jiraiya had no idea of how to fight him. Pain even said if he had figured out his secret sooner there was no way he could have beaten him.

The only reason naruto beat pain was because he knew to take out the body that regenerates and basically knew all of their attacks before hand and even then he didn't win without using the fox. he went down the second the deva path came back into play and it was only 2v1 at that point.

Naruto before getting control of the fox was still no where near jiraiya's level

I think he might be with the fox which is why its bullshit. He basically became a legend over night with gaining sage mode in a week and unlocking the fox. The three sages were supposed to be the strongest in the world but for some reason the author couldn't keep that. He had to keep buffing up all the characters way out of proportion practically over night giving them one omghax after another.
