n early naruto beat neji which was almost impossible + he always had the 9 tails which makes him already godlike if he released it completely.. and sasuke was givin beast powers by orochimaru which got him through most of the shit he had to fight... so already before shippuuden they were way to powerfull
+ sasuke trained with kakashi privately for the longest time n he was taught kakashis lightning technique which sasuke, the genius he is created so much out of it
sasuke trained with orochimaru, and naruto trained with jiraya 2 people that are already OP n then sasuke beats itachi (which orochimaru couldnt ever do) n he gets his mangekyou sharingan after meeting madara who was, or still is depending on naruto the strongest character in the show, and that power that made sasuke "1 shot naruto" was taken away by itachi and itachi also gave naruto some power that we havnt seen yet
so already naruto n sasuke are gradually getting stronger on there own... not just some huge boost in power which u didnt see comming
and currently naruto controlled the 9 tails, which has immense power on its own so naruto + 9 tails = amazing considering sasuke barely beat killer bee and they didnt say anything about sasuke recently so hes probly learned how to use the mangekyou sharingan in that time cause of madara
