Depending how strong the haki is, is how well it does- so let's keep Usopp's as like only a near death situation thing, like his observation Haki.

He has every right to be scared at a logia user and a dragon and poison.
He didn't have to worry about that in his 2yrs, he prob just worked off his fat in that 2yrs + sniping abilities + herbalism
