on episode 28 of monster, so when does this show get good? people compare this show like its death note but the main character has a brain the size of a pea unlike the genius that light is.

So I just watched all of Manyuu Hikenchou in one sitting. I think that might've been too much of that genre in one day. At least it was only 12 eps.

Seems like that show is too deep for you.

atm deciding between watching that one, Gosick or Shakugan no Shana next :) seems really good.

I still have to watch Gosick, I need to get though some other animes first, but I plan to watch it soon.

I'll look into Shakugan no Shana, I hadn't heard of it before :o

Just watched Yosuga no Sora and even though I WTF'd with annoyance quite a few times during the show, it gave off a nice and soothing feeling. Probably thanks the high quality VA, well-drawn environments & character designs and the absolutely amazing OP.
It was in omnibus format (the main pursued a relationship with a girl and then the show reserved and he gets a different girl) which made things feel pretty rushed since they obviously had to go out of their way to shove a goddamn forced sex scene down my throat in the end of each route.
Still, it was probably the best way to go in order to avoid turning into a School Days 2.0 and having another infamous boat ride ending
The last episodes are reaaally controversial and deals with the sexual relationship between Haru and Sora, reunited orphan twins. I guess that route was probably the reason why many wanted to watch the series in the first place and it gets one episode more than the other to show it's importance.
While it certainly featured the most dramatic and emotional episodes you can't help but feel uneasy as two twins all of a sudden confess their strong & repressed romantic feelings for each other. Especially when all the other routes have implied it being 100% one-sided.
Oh, and the Sora route definitely had the most satisfying ending. While it was pretty ambiguous, all interpretations would pretty much be considered happy for Sora and Haru, sad for all their friends and bittersweet for us watchers.

Overall, a very high-quality production which, while it fails to deliver on many selling points, is ultimately well worth watching for a fan of the romance, ecchi or harem genres if you can stomach the "most canonical" route being about twincest (I just had to use that expression at least once).
7/10

Gonna give Gosick a go before the others I think. Just need to finish a few things that I've had on-hold first :)

Go ahead and do that! Tons of people have been recommending it to me and I'm a fan of the genre too so I'm sure it'll be great! There also is a second season and the third is airing right now and they all have high rating :>

Well it definetely looks good, but I think I'll wait until the summer since it's long (with all those seasons), and I rather watch it when I have more spare time. I'm doing the same thing with FMP!, I've been wanting to watch it for some time, but I've been too busy to watch animes that are over 24 eps.

tell me why you thought that the ending was "ambiguous"
there were a lot of indicators for their death iirc, but its been a while, so i might as well be wrong
and yea, it couldve been great if it wasnt for all those forced sex scenes
