remember when they came to rescue rukia, and he powered up in a similar way to get bankai?
that'd be saying that the whole soul society arc was a filler for him to get stronger.
it almost has to happen this way, as he is constantly hurt, and struggling forward in a rush to rescue people close to him.
is he supposed to say "Timeout. I need to train for months so that I can power up and fight on your level."?
this was a good arc until the end. the espada were all unique, and some of the fights were crazy good.

Ok so let's all not be naive dicks about this: The 6-8 month arc will be Ichigo getting his powers back/people training to get stronger; possibly something with Aizen

The 2-3 year one will most likely be good, seeing as how he has gotten so many complaints about his story, a quick example being the Yammy fight in Hueco Mundo, or even the lack of character development outside of Ichigo and Aizen.

The 6 month-ish arc will most likely be character development and Ichigo receiving powers of some sort. The 2-3 year arc will be anyone's guess, but definitely expect Aizen to make a return.

he still needs to explain what ichigo is... he still needs to tell us where his dad came from.

maybe urahara n yoruichi will go back to soul society in a special division, maybe ichigos dad too

or perhaps ichigos sisters become the new representitive shinigami and ichigo just becomes a normal kid forever n hes taken out of hte whole story
