Finally finished the last stage of Initial D. Was good. 9/10 for the other stages, 10/10 for the fourth stage.

Currently watching Angel Beats. About half way through it, and so far I'm really enjoying it. Looking forward to finishing.

yeah, some series're like that for me. they have a unique art style, or one outside the norm for the time anyway, and it's really.. distracting, like you can't focus on the story so much as being distracted by the weird style.
dennou coil was like that for me at first, but i loved it after forcing myself to sit still for a few eps.

i don't have other timetravel recs for you though, can't really remember anything else.
kurozuka has a bit of.. not time travel but like, the MC waking up a couple hundred years later, kinda thing. a changed civilization. I guess that's closer to alternate world theme, than time travel.

everyone keeps saying this, but didnt feel all that much at the end XD

idk, i really didn't like angel beats. it felt half assed, given key's previous works. TK pretty much kept it slightly interesting. apparently none of his lines were scripted, the VA was just told to say whatever the fuck he wanted to.

the last episode (or two) had the usual key heart-twist, which was pretty much all i was waiting for at that point. it really just felt like haruhi: little girls in snow edition.
so, average, leaning towards okay. but not up to par for key

itll be interesting to see if they get kyoani to produce any of their other series. really duno why we haven't had a planetarian ova yet.
