but why not just turn off izangi right after the hit was blown.?
thus keeping his right eye?
so maybe hashirama wanted to check, but madara had a whole minute.. thats a long pulse check.
added to the fact that the minute was from danzou who wasn't even a uchiha member.
it said that the times vary person to person, so im expecting big ass powerful madara had 1:30? maybe 2 minutes at it.

you cant  its the cost if you use it you lose the eye regardless if he kept it going he would of lost both eyes  but once its activated 1 eye is lost regardless, Danzou was using it and thats why the eyes on his arms were closing.
