danzou and the 3rd would be considered the second generation along with the elders imo 1,2nd trained danzou and the 3rd as kids , then ochi, jirya, tsunade, the white fang " kakashi's dad" would be the 3rd generation

and the 1st could control the beast with out sealing them into his self , he could control them with out being a jinchuriki along with madara, and i even believe madara used the fox to attack the 1st during there fight but it failed cause he could control the fox also.

"also i believe the senju and the uchiha both had control of all the beast "the two main clans that founded the first village" and the 1st after his fight with madara for hokage gave all the beast but for the 9 tails away to the other developing villages as a sign of peace and a balance of power

the cloud used jars to seal away the 8 tails so kushina could of been the first jinchuriki and it was an experiment. or there could of been 1 or 2 ahead of her its not clear yet. but my own personal opinion madara used his eyes to go into her inner world and broke the seal thus releasing the fox to rampage and in his desperation to stop it and save the village the 4th sealed it into naruto killing his self and kushina at the same time, cause if u extract a bijuu the host dies.

the 4th was extremely good with fūinjutsu he used it on his special knives that he threw and that is how he was able to teleport and that is how he was also able to seal his own chakara and kushina chakara into naruto and that is how naruto is having the conversations with his parents inside of his self

i see so there are 5 generations.
and i see what you mean by madara using the 9 tails to attack the 1st with the fox. makes almost perfect sense.
i don't believe they had all the beast though. i would say at least a majority of them.
for a fact they had 9 and 7. i also think they gave away the 2,5 or 4 and 6. just cause i think they would.
thats giving the other villages at least 1 beast,
1 tail for the sand
8 tail for the clouds
5 or 4 for the stones rocks w/e haha.
3 for the mist they might have even had the 6 tail. idk.
. yeah i know im being skeptical sooo its w/e.

and as for they could control it without sealing it within themselves well..

cloud was given the 8 tails and the 2 tails, and its pretty obv they are the best village at turning out the best jinjichuri, the 2 tails had complete control just like bee did. and its obv they wanted power and more of it.
they tried to kidnap hinati for the secrets of the byaguan and now we hear they tried to kidnap the 9tails kushina, that would of given 1 village 3 of the 9 beast. and i think the 9tails is the strongest personally but the number of tails dosent = the power of the beast. and its not they wanted kushina her self just the wanted the fox and to use that chamber to produce another perfect host

on a side note The Cloud killed the 2nd Hokage it just shows how effing scary Madara is. That the leaf and cloud are working so well together after the cloud trying to do so many horrible things to the leaf, but im sure the leaf has done its fair share also but i was always under the impression the leaf fucked over the sand more then any one else

the 1st unique wood style was able to tame the beast and any uchiha with strong enough eyes can control a beast also, Sasuke suppressed the fox inside of naruto like cake, this is why yamato is always used as a baby sitter for naruto because he can use the same jutsu but only at 1/10 of the str the first was doing it at

now on to why madara left,

the senju and uchiha were the best of the clans in the fire nation hands down, they were always pitted against each other if one lord hired a senju the other lord hired a uchiha. after many years of war between the two clans only due to the clans being mercenaries both sides started to get tired of all the fighting, during this time 2 people rose up as the leaders of the clans just because they were the strongest, Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara. Madara and his brother were almost equals in abilities but Madara was a little stronger and madara used his eyes more often then his brother and thus lost his sight they both were able to awaken MS, Madaras brother chose to give his eyes to his brother for the sake of the clan. Madara accepted this gift. Then talks of peace came around and madara was getting angry at the sacrifice his brother made for nothing but madara had to please the clan who as a whole was getting tired of the fighting. So madara and Hashirama negotiate a peace treaty and decide to build a village and unite the clans of the fire nation as a one stop mercenary town where any man lord or peasant could hire a ninja. Once the village was on its way time came to pick a leader, naturaly the sunju wanted hashirama and the uchia wanted madara but by this time there were a few other clans in the village and Hashirama got the vote to become the new Hokage. Madara was pissed and started to see the politics that the senju were trying to push down the power of the uchiha and become the top dog of the village, Madara pleaded with his clan to see this they were being fooled into submission but the clan only viewd madara as a power war hungry fool that wanted to rekindle the war and they exiled him, Betrayed by his clan but still wanting to keep its pride and glory he attacked the now 1st hokage to try and assassinate him and take command of the village by force thus making sure the uchiha is not pushed out of the way. Well he lost and ran away "its rumor he was killed every one thought he was killed" but i belive and this is my opinion right before the 1st sent the final blow he used Inzagi which makes reality a dream but at the cost of losing an eye which is why he hides that one eye and collects eyes and swaps them out at will and also is why he is a ghost of his former self". well now that madara is out of the picture and labeled a dead traitor, the 1st dies and passes the the position onto his brother with out voting and thus establish a second reign of power dominated by the senju, The 2nd to ease tension of the uchia moved them to the outskirts and made them head of the police force. to enforce the laws of the city but secretly he was pushing them further away from power and putting them in a area where they could keep watch on them for fear of another member acting the way madara did. time goes on and then the 2nd passes the power onto the 3rd a student of his with out voting once more, and by now some uchiha members start to realize madara was right and the uchiha clan is getting pushed out of the way and losing power and they started to form a plan to revolt and take charge of the village, the man leading this revolt was Itachis father. the elders of the village caught wind of this and decided to use a war torn boy to end the revolt. Itachi his self. " you have to understand itachi he was so gifted he was thrown into the ninja war at a very young age 5 or 6 and all the death and hate and gore he witness on the battle field changed him into a different person. He hated fighting and hated war but still loved his village and clan, Danzo played on this and told itachi that if the uchia did revolt it would make a civil war that would last for years and make the village open to an attack from another village, The 4th ninja war just ended and he didn't want to see the leaf thrown into another war so he decided to double cross his family and spy on the uchiha pretending to be a member who was going to help revolt, He killed his best friend was at the time in the village was the only rival in str to itachi his self. But doing so he gained more power, With this new power the MS he was able to detect Madara around the village who was planning a attack so he made a plan with madara i will help you take revenge on the uchiha under the condition you never attack the village. madara accepted and kept his promise unti itachi died and thus ends the uchiha clan but for madara and sasuke

it said that the times vary person to person, so im expecting big ass powerful madara had 1:30? maybe 2 minutes at it.
