interesting point because when they explain the "izanagi"... they claimed:
1) You didn't need a mangenkyo sharingan to activate it and
2) They mentioned something along the line of "it was abused like hell, thus izanami was created"
so... how the fuck did any 2 people kill dozens upon dozens of uchihas... even if you could just infer that not all of the uchiha went down the ninja route, and were just simple house people / shop owners / mothers (assuming dads don't have a choice) why not just izanagi left and right and at least make it difficult...

I don't know.. its just always potrayed as itachi just throwing some kunai / shurriken into them and "boom" dead.... which also doesn't make sense how a shurriken that enters your body less than one quarter of an inch instantly kills people like you blew a hole threw their heart.

so some girl named izanami just magically created a jutsu to counter izagani out of no where?

well for starters, it's a forbidden jutsu.the uchiha leaders must've kept it hidden and it faded with time. So, i doubt any current generation uchihas even knew about it, just like how they were unaware of the mangekyou sharingan and how to activate it. look at sasuke, he didn't even know about any of these sharingan abilities until itachi and danzo showed him



pay attention to details next time you watch!... they mentioned it a couple of times.
