if 90% of anime is majority of the same since it appeals to the masses then I'd say finding the 10% with actual originality is going to be rare.

odd thing is, the 10% with actual originality are low budget or loved by the masses and praised for their creativity.

lol u cant expect everyone to come with new stuff everytime. its entertainment, not hipster material for you to shat on and criticized or become something unwanted or not watchable.
i think i am pretty picky about anime i generally skip some if it had certain tags on mal. and that rounds me to 2-5 animes a season
i mean sure it wound be nice to not see 1 more goddam school setting
but there is no way to avoid them.


my advice is to just lower expectations and pick a few that you think it will be amiable to you each season instead.

I don't understand the term "hipster" especially in this context... we're talking about anime here.

If I said I dislike movies that revolve around explosions, the blatant lack of character development, . These things that can be overlooked with a huge budget by many, I.E - Attack on Titan in comparison to Transformers, Sword Art Online and other garbage tier animes that just involve cliche, fillers, harem, damsels in distress, super strong/super smart/super crazy/super everything.

like i said, you have to take for granted its a form of an entertainment.
if you are bored of it then find something else, it's meant to cater more than the 10%.
