To answer the topic, and I think how like most people have answered, I don't go through any extrodinary measure to make sure others do not know what I like. At the same time, I don't have a bunch of paraphernalia that announces me as such like wallpapers on my work (well, school) laptop. That has at most a touhou browser theme and my skype avatar which is the same as my jsp avatar.

Even among my family I've converted even my mom into an anime watcher, and we regularly watch anime. I do try to avoid things that would be akward to watch with your parents, because really there's always those things if they are anime or not. xD

tl;dr: I'm not the type that goes around showing it off, but I'm not a complete closet otaku. If there's someone that's gonna judge me badly because of that, they're probably not work being friends with anyways.

e: In post 4 touhou posted a video which I thumbed through and actually guy makes a good point "no one cares you watch anime. only one who cares is other geeks." Well to that I wonder what about all those not well educated folks that just think "anime" is a bunch of cartoon kiddie porn or whatnot? XD or are they not worth considering because they are NOT educated?

People ask me if my tattoo's come from hentai.

I normally just nod and laugh and agree that it does and it comes into a humorous joke to get everyone cheerful.

Afterwards, they get serious and become curious on what they actually are. Being in the military for the past eight years, I come across every type of person you can think of and no one disliked the tattoos nor talked crap about Anime in general.

Like Godel stated in the video, the only people that'll judge are other geeks. The only time I ever got negative comments are from jsp. (go figure)

Other than that, everyone I know and met loved my tattoos. Explaining Touhou and Vocaloids can become complicating though.
