that's the whole reason there was a true ending in the first place.

when they first released oreimo, they only intended to have 1 season and to end it with the 'happy' ending.
but after their last episode was released, there was a certain uproar and they realised that oreimo actually received a lot more recognition and decided they have to have a season 2.
which is why they decided to remake the ending to match the LN and called it the 'true' ending.
