that is a good point I got friends who spend a lot on money on weed when they have kids to feed... I know a grower and I used to grow too so I never really spent anything on pot..

and I don't like to talk about it but money is not something I ever have to worry about =X so it is not something that even really crossed my mind, but yeah I have seen friend of mine buy drugs when they should be saving or spending it on other things...

I'm not saying they neglect there kids or anything but you know they could have been taking that 40$ a week or w/e they spend on pot and put it in a collage fund or something.

/e never start smoking cigs... I have quit so many times but can not seem to kick the habit for good... it sucks

I could probably do it now if I really tried.. just because I don't hang out with the same people anymore ( smokers ) Its hard to quit for good when all your friends smoke.

You guys act as if dubs ruined shows (altho some have been ruined by dubs aka 4kids). You do know there are some dubs better than the original right.

Cowboy Bebop is one of them.

And there are some shows that are good dubbed. There are plenty that suck dubbed.

Dubs also allow people who normally would rather not read subs to watch. Also dubs don't affect the anime you are watching if you don't like dubs just don't watch them and continue watching your anime subbed.
You don't have to hate on those that watch anime dubbed it is a matter of preference. Also recently anime dubbed has at least been decent unlike many many years ago which they were all almost crap.

The problem is that aside from Bebop, GiTS and a few others... Every other dubbed anime has the same voice actors They don't even bother to change their tone or emotion

Cowboy Bebop is over rated brown garbage water... sure the dub was decent but I can name 300 animes with horrible dubs...( look no farther then my sig ) while you repeating ''cowboy bebop'' "cowboy bebop"

at least mix it up once and a while and mention Beck.. that also had a good dub I'd say better than bebop because of how well all the songs were done, but its not as mainstream.. so all you little dub loving fanboys have probably never seen it

I also said plenty of dubs sucked and I know it because I have tried a lot of dubs. I myself said Cowboy Bebop because it is probably the one most people have seen. I have watched Beck both subbed and dubbed and I have to say the dub is overall better at least in terms of the songs.

I also have preferences of anime that are better subbed to some people but I would rather watch it dubbed. Does that mean the subbed one sucks? No it does not it just means I really like the dub.
Great Teacher Onizuka, Code Geass, Trigun, + others.

edit: I would also like to mention dubs don't only fail because of voice actors don't forget soundtrack some of them don't keep the original music. The Initial D dub I watched was really bad.
edit2: altho I believe funimation did a dub for initial d which actually uses the original music tho I could be wrong.

and about what I quoted in bold... a lot of subs do suck but you would never know it... I'm not trying to bash on one or the other really because I have also seen many horrible subs.

/e I understand that Japanese does not always translate well to English so that is the reason for most of the bad subs but not all.. and there are some bad Japanese voice actors out there too.. so

English has more words than any other language.
Therefore, dubs must be more accurate and have more detail.
Even if things get 'mistranslated', they still being almost the exact same point/words across.
