E/ manga is not a show. anime is an adaption if a manga and that is a show. However the storyline a in animes are altered and therefore not the same thing.

Usopp was definitely necessary, who else would beat someone in a battle of negativity for the team? He's there for comic relief, he was the reason the got the going merry, he's not completely useless but he's not supposed to be a super badass, the crew needs diversity.
