na grimmjow was the only one progressing out of the group, the others said they weren't getting stronger but grimmjow never gave that hint or fact so were led to believe he was still getting stronger due to eating others,

now if grimmjow acquired vasto on his own or aizen saw the potential and made him into a vasto i think is still up for debate but will never be answered

on another note its obvious they were all vasto lords and they all got pwnt. but for the gillian one ofc

dude grimjows buddys became arrancars so yea he never ended up eating them

but we can't know how many hundreds of years they helped him eat adjuchas. I think grimmjow is a vasto because when he released he was very clearly humanoid, but when every other arrancar transforms they go back into their animal forms. All of the strong espada kept almost completely human forms while all of the others were hideously morphed.
