Don't get me wrong, I think a death of one the SH would be an insanely interesting plot twist, but highly HIGHLY doubtful.

We have seen Sanji/Zoro fight the main villain of an arc before and end up having luffy beat them in the end - We just saw this at fishman arc actually (when zoro fought hordy).

It is just a preliminary sequence.

Not impossible for a crew member to be killed, s'long as they are replaced by someone who also would fulfill that role.

But again, I digress. One Piece is basically kept alive/marketed by the personalities of the current crew. They aren't going anywhere I don't think
