That makes sense. Or maybe he stopped him because they didn't want Old Man Yama to know that he's stronger than him so he had to hold back but now that he's dead he can use his Bankai and pwn Aizen IMO

learn when breaking your lines is good and bad. You do it way to often and is annoying XD

The story started out as extinguishing hollows and went to houkyoku after the SS arc when Aizen revealed his plan. Honestly aizen saying he was in control over Ichigo the whole time seems like something he came up on the spot. Why would he send byakuya and renji after Rukia knowing they would fight Ichigo? It is pure dumb luck byakuya didn't kill Ichigo and left him 99% dead after they took Rukia. After bankai was introduced the feel of bleach changed completely from a good original series to your typical wtfhax powerful shounen.

Aizen knew Rukia would stop Byakuya from killing Ichigo. Ichigo looks like Kaien Shiba, and Aizen most probably knew about Rukia's deep feelings for Kaien, considering he was responsible for his Kaien's death.
