Kiddy grade and FMP I've seen, I'll check out Vandread, ty.

I'm not a big fan of mecha either. Well, I wasn't. And I still don't watch mecha animes because of the mecha. But I've noticed that many mecha animes have awesome drama, music and animation quality. Ty for rec, iso more :)

how about

Evangelion (TV series, old movie, new movies)
Gundam 00 (both seasons)

I've seen evangelion and I have Gundam 00, but I haven't warmed up to it just yet :) Ty a lot for rec though, still iso more recs with mecha+girls+drama <-- Means I would very much like it to have more to it than just the mecha.

Thank you for expressing my thoughts better  Still, I'm not just after panty shots or accidental nudity. I want female characters that have an actual role in the anime.

I recently watched code geass, and for some reason it greatly resembled death note. Even though the genres are completely different, there is a lot of mystery and scheming throughout the whole first season of Code Geass. It is a mecha anime, but that is not the main point of the show. Good drama and even some light comedy every now and then.

This rec is not made just because I just fell in love with CG, but because I genuinely feel that the two main chars are very similar.
