They might be able to withstand it, just like some of whitebeards peons withstood redhairs haki.

Depends what you mean. The day or so he spends with garp is important, because of what garp reveals in their dialogue.

If there was anything I wanted to skip, it was the whole glacier flag sidequest they go on.

I'd say tough it out and watch the episodes if you wanted my two cents.

The only episodes I skip are the totally unrelated, alternate universe japanese episodes and the entire character history recaps like during enes lobby.

i skipped like 15 eps in eneis lobby cuz they took too long from 270-290

Well if you just want to know the importance of garps meeting, then someone can pm it to you. That way if you feel the need to skip you can do so.

Or if you just wanted to read the manga for those episodes you could do it and it would take much less time.
