Hmm. for me, I think hes strong enough to be able to somewhat hurt an admiral, but i doubt hes actually on a similar level or even close to it.

I mean..OP is half way through.  It would be BS if 2years training got him to Admiral level..which is top tier characters. The training was for the SH crew to be able to hold their own against villains in the new world.  Not be at top level already.

My point was, Luffy shouldnt be anywhere near the top. Not even high.  I see him as mid tier in the New World atm.  Think of how boring the story would be if 2 years is all it took to get on the level of Kuzan -.-

for me, it just doesnt make sense

In a fight, i dunno.  Id say ther probably around similar level.  Or an Admiral MIGHT be stronger since sengoku is older and past his prime probably. just like WB and Garp.

Sengoku couldve of stopped him for couple reasons.  1. Maybe garp would have killed Akainu. who knows?

The other reason could be that the marines were already busy fighting the pirates and if Garp wouldve jumped in and tried to kill Akainu, and keep him busy, it could be trouble for the marines.  AT that point, having garp go against the marines could cause serious trouble on top of dealing with the pirates
