i agree, maybe they think it's haki because they've fell victim to the kings haki,
probably by someone obviously very strong and now someone they fear very much.
so everytime they some a large group go down they immediately think it's King's haki
kinda like how post traumatic stress disorder works.

He's required to have atleast 1 type of Haki to be a VA lol.

Except.. to be the pirate king you have to find one piece and I don't see how a tournament is going to help in anyway..
