Okay I understand what you're saying but that process can Take a long Time right. -> Many persons would be bored of doing that after a certain Time, I think.
You are correct, people get bored farming that location, and as I stated before, I would farm area, and then while I slept or drank/ate while my best friend was farming, it was more beneficial.
Okay, there is a different way to think about it ... by gaining all the potions with +1 Stat(s) during that time, you can clear other areas faster than moving forward with your current low stat build ... think about it, now you have 255 Strength and you can basically 1 hit monsters, or 255 Vitality when you can just sit there and take no damage.
Basically it works both ways, however, if you farmed early, you can easily move forward. Just my 2 cents worth. :D
Okay so that was the Trick. That was your Trick. Indeed I didn't remember that using the command "Card" on one enemy didn't Warrant any Exp. because I never made use of that command anywhere in my Playthrough To begin with (I didn't see the "need" To do it) So I never did it. Plus using "Seifer" for all your Levelling and Killing-> a nearly NPC character was kinda the Trick Too I shall give it to you. =) Actually I did the same thing as you Back on Dollet's tower but not with seifer. I did it with selphie! I killed off all my comrades To make it a "challenge" selphie only lol. But doing so wouldn't allow me to finish this game at the level of 13 or 11 ofc.
Not only do I still have the PS1 and Finaly Fantasy VIII disc set. But I (even now on the 2020's) still play these games! while others are playing all the recent "MAINSTREAM" games like Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft etc...
I am still playing those old RPG games and not changing at all!
I added coloured text in your quote above. Glad you still have the discs and still play them, I lost all my Mem cards with my discs + playstation from moving around often.
Oh, as for the other games you mentioned in your posts below... I am and always will be an Arcader player over Console / PS etc gamers... I like to stand there, in front of an Arcade game and go all out physically mashing the buttons and moving the joystick around to make combinations... I can even spout about the original "Space Invaders" and how you get the top "300 pts" killing the UFO that appeared on top every time if you hit it with that shot. It is multiples of 7 shots and the 8th shot killed the UFO = 300 points... so either 7, 14 or 21 shots before the UFO spawned and your next shot HAD to hit for max 300 pts, then repeat and rinse.
There are other tricks to other Arcade games like Galaga ... within the first two waves, you kill everything EXCEPT the 2 left (column) Blue monsters from the bottom 2 rows and let them keep attacking until they stop firing down on you... what this does is simple... every wave of monster spawn from there will NOT fire down on you... basically they can not kill you by shooting you, but you still have to dodge their flight pattern throughout the game.
There are other things like "Lady Bug" where you can collect items that give you a Free Game (Arcade), a free player (basically another chance to play the game if your character dies) etc.
Defender ... original that gave you a free player every 10,000 points of experience ... once you get to 990,000 points, you are given free players per killed monsters, the problem is this, you have to make up the difference with points ... so if you kill off 500,000 points of monsters ... you gain 500 free ships, however, you have to last (survive) that many when the game gets harder.
However... if you clock the game 99 waves 3 times, during the 4th time Defender resets back to the start.
There are many games I used to play... but one thing is for certain, if you ever come across the game Defender (Arcade) ... play it and see how your reaction skills are, luckily I was young, so my Hand / Eye Co-ordination was good enough to play the game... and this game had no cheats to it, other than reset'ing, however, you had to be skilled enough to clock the game 3 to times before it got reset.
