does that mean you dont want to watch anime with me?

No no of course Not*

You two are so adorable ...

Basically my initial post was about getting together and giving each other(s) perspective(s) about the anime they like or dislike. Point out different features that each other has not realized.

Reminds me of the days that I and Billy was playing FFVII (Final Fantasy 7) on PS1 and take turns with the same game... I would play my way for like 9+ hours getting through things and leveling up, and he was asleep, he would take over the controller while I was asleep and continue our game and find things I would have missed.

Basically we ended up with our character with max stats (255 in each) and by the time we got to the last boss... it was too damn easy and years later we laughed at all the dumb Walkthoughs about FFVII because we did it easier.

Oh, as for FFVIII... we even completed the game with the highest level character being level 11 ... I mean, wtf is up with that.

So, long story short, the programs you watch will give you both enlightenment over others. :D

Oh... I was bored, so I decided to ramble in this post, but then that is my nature and going back to re-watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc

Hehe Thank you for remembering me (prolly) the best years of my Life. -> Me Playing Final Fantasy VII Back on those days. (with the difference that I've played it Alone, and Not with a friend Like you did.)
But it was still Fun to play it on my own.. I guess. Btw you said you managed to get your characters at 255 (max stats) at some point right? How did you do This. I'm curious B)
You were using some cheat codes perhaps? in order to get your characters with all features Attack, Magic, Defense etc To 255. or You were like spamming the final Dungeon in final fantasy VII "northern Cave" and stealing all the sources from the pots there or other monsters one by one :P which is a considerable Task.

Or were you just playing the Game alot mebbe...

But oh well even if you did that, we had not so much to do at that time (else than playing those video games) since Internet, Cellphones etc - didn't exist :P

How old were you at the time when Final Fantasy VII first aired in Japan?

As for the beating of Final Fantasy VIII at the Level 11 or 13, as you said. I think This is a little exaggerated. And would be possible ONLY with some strong junctionning like putting Holy or Full-life to HP, putting Ultima or Meteor to Strength, putting Triple to Accuracy or Evade, putting Aura to Luck etcetera...

We farmed certain spots where they dropped like +1 Vitality potion and other monsters with +1 Str / Dex etc, once we found the spawning spot of those monsters, we farmed it until we reached 255 stat.

No, it is not an exaggeration, When I left the main starting point, I went to the Beach and figured out the exact amount of damage I could do to the monsters and then Card them... which gave me 0 Experience points, so I did not level up, and when Seifer joins your group to go to Dollet, I kill off all other party members and leveled him to 99 and also "Draw" all the magical abilities from the enemies as they started to level up... so then I would transfer them to the rest of the party while they were dead all the way up to Firaga, Blizzaga, Curaga etc. Note, there is a certain point of Dollet that you do not go past, you just kill all enemies on the Bridge... but remember to kill off the other party members and use Seifer only. That is the trick... also, I only Carded all enemies so I did not gain Experience points, even in the Prison.

So, no, not an exaggeration at all... check it out yourself is you still have the PS and FFVIII disc set.

EDIT: Oh, you have to love counter.

Okay I understand what you're saying but that process can Take a long Time right. -> Many persons would be bored of doing that after a certain Time, I think.

Okay so that was the Trick. That was your Trick. Indeed I didn't remember that using the command "Card" on one enemy didn't Warrant any Exp. because I never made use of that command anywhere in my Playthrough To begin with (I didn't see the "need" To do it) So I never did it. Plus using "Seifer" for all your Levelling and Killing-> a nearly NPC character was kinda the Trick Too I shall give it to you. =) Actually I did the same thing as you Back on Dollet's tower but not with seifer. I did it with selphie! I killed off all my comrades To make it a "challenge" selphie only lol. But doing so wouldn't allow me to finish this game at the level of 13 or 11 ofc.

Not only do I still have the PS1 and Finaly Fantasy VIII disc set. But I (even now on the 2020's) still play these games! while others are playing all the recent "MAINSTREAM" games like Fortnite, League of Legends, Minecraft etc...
I am still playing those old RPG games and not changing at all!

You are correct, people get bored farming that location, and as I stated before, I would farm area, and then while I slept or drank/ate while my best friend was farming, it was more beneficial.

Okay, there is a different way to think about it ... by gaining all the potions with +1 Stat(s) during that time, you can clear other areas faster than moving forward with your current low stat build ... think about it, now you have 255 Strength and you can basically 1 hit monsters, or 255 Vitality when you can just sit there and take no damage.

Basically it works both ways, however, if you farmed early, you can easily move forward. Just my 2 cents worth. :D

I added coloured text in your quote above. Glad you still have the discs and still play them, I lost all my Mem cards with my discs + playstation from moving around often.

Oh, as for the other games you mentioned in your posts below... I am and always will be an Arcader player over Console / PS etc gamers... I like to stand there, in front of an Arcade game and go all out physically mashing the buttons and moving the joystick around to make combinations... I can even spout about the original "Space Invaders" and how you get the top "300 pts" killing the UFO that appeared on top every time if you hit it with that shot. It is multiples of 7 shots and the 8th shot killed the UFO = 300 points... so either 7, 14 or 21 shots before the UFO spawned and your next shot HAD to hit for max 300 pts, then repeat and rinse.

There are other tricks to other Arcade games like Galaga ... within the first two waves, you kill everything EXCEPT the 2 left (column) Blue monsters from the bottom 2 rows and let them keep attacking until they stop firing down on you... what this does is simple... every wave of monster spawn from there will NOT fire down on you... basically they can not kill you by shooting you, but you still have to dodge their flight pattern throughout the game.

There are other things like "Lady Bug" where you can collect items that give you a Free Game (Arcade), a free player (basically another chance to play the game if your character dies) etc.

Defender ... original that gave you a free player every 10,000 points of experience ... once you get to 990,000 points, you are given free players per killed monsters, the problem is this, you have to make up the difference with points ... so if you kill off 500,000 points of monsters ... you gain 500 free ships, however, you have to last (survive) that many when the game gets harder.

However... if you clock the game 99 waves 3 times, during the 4th time Defender resets back to the start.

There are many games I used to play... but one thing is for certain, if you ever come across the game Defender (Arcade) ... play it and see how your reaction skills are, luckily I was young, so my Hand / Eye Co-ordination was good enough to play the game... and this game had no cheats to it, other than reset'ing, however, you had to be skilled enough to clock the game 3 to times before it got reset.

When I was younger, I played Arcade games.
When I started play games on the PC ... like Doom etc around 1990.
Got introduced to PS games in 1995 ... did play other games, not all RPG
Around 2000 got hooked in playing D2 and similar games on PC ... PoE etc

Dungeon games both on PS & PC.
