I caved and bought a WoW subscription.
I honestly can't understand how people got hooked on this game. Questing is a drag. Raids are a headache. The crafting system is straight up stupid.

i'd say it's partially because of how the game was before, and less of what it evolved into over the years.
also it was Blizzard (when they were still Blizzard and not Activision)
it was still a grind but compared to other MMO's in that timeframe it was top tier (not so much nowadays)

there will probably be a decent amount of people jumping into WoW Classic when it launches.
only downside is that it's still subscription based for a version so old so it'll never really do big number.
