in the pengilum arc aizen wasent very old he was a newb into the soul society he was a high lvl rank cause he was just bad ass now he is all hair slicked back uber mofia style ganster man with loads of experiance

i think love's the strongest of the bunch.

strongest wouldn`t matter if they couldn`t see through his shikai`s abilities even a little bit
which is why i assume shinji might be only vaizard who could even attempt to fight aizen since he could see through some of his techniques before
but if he made an illusion of himself somehow then shinji could probably be fooled again

I don't think he was under his shikai, if he was he wouldn't have gotten cought during that one part. If he was using shikai then, that would mean shinji can break it or see through it to at least some extent sicne he found him.

I doubt the impostor was a result of his shikai, probably manipulated the other guy somehow and dressed him up



he was fooled basically because he wasn't paying attention and didn't know enough about aizen to discern between an impostor and him.
