Tobi is most likely connected to Black zetsu but still no idea yet, not even giving any info on his origins in the manga yet. But we do know the real Madara/body is indeed dead and is brought back with Edo tensei.

but also.. what about the uchiha that was in the forest with second hokage/sarutobi/danzo? they didnt give much info about him but yet his hair style looks very familiar to how tobi looks now..
is it possible some1 took madara's eyes??
the only reason i say it is cause obito gave kakashi his eye... so why couldnt some1 take madara's eyes and use them? especially if they wanted to follow madara's rebel against the leaf village??

you're thinking of Kagami Uchiha he to could be some how connected but presumed dead, so we still don't know.

Also in fact Tobi could be Madara Uchiha's Father which could also possibly be the eldest son of the sage of the six. Going back to where he has history of the Rinnengan. Idk why I wouldn't think this before but could be a well known possibility. Because if you think about it the youngest son was the Senju clans Ancestor which enticed peace and love while the eldest was the Ancestor of the Uchiha which drove to hatred and war. so maybe just maybe Tobi is connected some how through the Eldest son.

have we found out who kabuto had in the coffin yet? that tobi told him he didnt think he would take it that far... any ideas? could that be madara in the box?
