nope, guess they went with a movie this time for the sequel.
it's sucks since that effectively means that even when it releases there will be no way to really watch it until it releases on Blu-ray (which generally takes another half a year )
at least being a movie it's budget is probably higher so production quality will probably go up which is a nice trade off.

ya fucking movies take so long to get the translation...

well depends how you look at it.
it does take awhile for an anime movie to release here in the west in English sub (not really a translation issue though, prob more licensing etc.. ?)
however to those among subber groups that sub anime etc.. it really doesn't take that long for a movie to get a sub.

like i remember watching the Kizumonogatari movies days after they were released in Japan on Blu-ray etc..
obviously takes longer than a regular 20min episode to do, but they still manage to get those out within hours of airing in japan usually.
downside to movies is having to wait until they actually have material to work with. (if it's needed as sometime i think movies release with english subs. i dunno)


it's the same here in the west with DVD/Blu-ray releases.
they take up to like half a year for no god damn reason.
like how hard is it to really throw the movie onto a disc and maybe throw on some Extras and send that shit to the printer and then ship it?
i feel like most of the time is just so people can forget about it and then boom they release it and it's fresh again and probably sells more perhaps than if it were to say come out after it leaves theaters.
