depending on the state you live in the laws are different when it comes to that content.

though there hasn't been much in the sense of big legal court battles for that kind of stuff. (most cases are just repeat CP offenders that just happened to have art on there pc too)
i do recall hearing of an Canadian Asian guy how brought back some loli doujin stuff after a trip to Japan and he got put in the sex offender database and i think got a good chuck of house arrest or community service. (don't think he got any jail time though)

so you have to be careful when importing lewd stuff with petite characters that might look too youthful or your package might disappear and you might get in trouble.

though it's not like FBI gonna bust through your door because they know you read something like The Light of Tsukimi Manor off the web or because you follow loli artists on twitter/pixiv. (at least that i know of, never heard of any cases like that)
but i'm sure if you got into some trouble for something and they searched your shit it wouldn't be a good thing.

anything that would require law enforcement to search your various forms of media.
these days one could say it probably happens more often now due to how plugged-in people are with the internet.
hell even some employers ask for your social media profiles, from what i assume to be part of a background check and to keep tabs on employee's to make sure they're not on their phones tweeting during work and being respectable?
think i've even seen articles about how it's also shown up on government documentation for immigration or visa applications.
we live in a crazy time.

though if they came to your house and wanted your PC you could decline them if they don't got the right documentation right?
then you can just throw your HDD's into the microwave.
