I disagree. It would be too plain and boring if some mystery hermit was able to track them all the way to where they were. Remember, they just arrived to this place. And when Zwei collapses why is Ein smiling at him? She lived for him, she would not show signs of happiness if he randomly got killed. And near the end you see her lying in the grass. I believe they found what they were looking for, and decided to die happily together.

No, Ein didnt kill Zwei what would be the point in her doing so? + Why would they even add that carriage at the end if it ended as u said it did. the reason she turned back and smiled was either A). Zwei was too far away for her to see him. B.) she realized that its alright if inferno kills t hem now that she found her home. maybe she didnt want to run forever to stay away from inferno. they were only searching for her home before inferno could get to them and kill them.
