2 of which i'm kind of hung up on because they could go south pretty fast for me (WWWorking and the Mahou Shoujo)

General rant about the number of the anime that get really short seasons, finish in the middle of an arc or something then have to wait ages/forever for them to continue!

Shouldn't the goal be to make more stuff that's continuous/long until the end of source material especially with popular ones. Seems silly to keep making as much new stuff when there so many great anime that can be continued/they know will be popular

For example these all got ridiculously short seasons:
Berserk
Seven Deadly Sins
D.gray Man Hallow
Shokugeki no Soma
Alderamin on the Sky

And while i do sort of like this one it gets 50 episodes?

"short season" A season lasts 1 cour. 10-13 episodes

Anime doesn't make that much money. Merchandise is what makes up for the cost of anime. Your favorite anime gets cancelled? It's cause its not helping merchandise including BDs, figurines, games and LNs sell. It's not just about viewership, its about purchases.

1. the new Berserk sucks.
2. Seven Deadly Sins is on a steady trend in terms of manga content to anime
3. D.gray Man Hallow sucks.
4. Shokugeki no Soma is on a steady trend in terms of manga content to anime
5. Alderamin on the Sky doesn't make money.

sousei no onmyouji is literally crap compared to the manga cause cheap ass studio pierrot. I love the manga but I can't watch the wonky eyed anime

Anything that doesn't follow the normal 1-2 cour format is usually made by a cheap studio that cuts quality or by a series that rakes in alot of merchandise sales and can support the animation costs



yeah lack of slice of life

but so much moeblob and ecchi stuff and then theres hibike euphonium season 2

yeah because an industry full of Naruto and Bleach's is what everyone wants....lol
now that would really kill the industry.
half the reason it even works now is because the sheer amount they put out and the variety within it. (keeps people buying and keeps merc flowing)

with Naruto and Bleach done for there's a big gap for long running shows now.
so that's probably why some longer ones are popping up again.
Sousei no Onmyouji, World Trigger etc...

Also Berserk is still ongoing so that doesn't really fit that list (also it's so bad it's length wouldn't even matter)





half of what i'm watching is slice of life. lol
i usually tend to watch a decent amount of Moe stuff, just nothing really shines to me next season.

^I know it's what generally happens but i don't see why it has to be the case.
Half the problem seems to be they catch upto the manga/source material too soon which wouldn't happen as much if they didn't keep starting so many series, mob psycho for example. Either that or really bad studios adapting really good work, not sure why?

Don't see why they can't take a page from the western industry and continue popular stuff every year until to fails, then start new stuff as needed.
How would continuing stuff not be good for merchandise etc, just allows individual franchises to grow more. It might encourage more source material/get some writers off their asses too if you have to have a lot out to get a successful anime!

Madhouse seems to be particular at sequels, ngnl for example which was really well for the ln sales apparently.

One piece does it right, they put out manga and anime at the same rate now, everyone is super into it now ended up spawning so many games movies w/e don't see a lot more don't try to emulate.
Just keep doing it if it's super popular basically
