i mean luffy's idea or vision of the pirate king is to be the pirate with the most freedom on the sea , hes not interested in blindly going to war he only fights to protect his nakama or self preservation, if he goes to war he will be putting his friends in danger its un characteristic of him ,

why not just have it be big mom so it doesnt seem as if either is a sidekick
