Although, I guess I could put some effort into this reply.
If you look back, alot of us were in HS/college during those years, relatively carefree. This place was new, some of us were relatively new to anime as well. Tons of territory to discover. Now we're all disgruntled bastards, tredging through piles of terribad trolls & weeaboos.
I don't think it's necessary to watch a ton of anime to appreciate the good ones, vs the bad, but if you watch a ton of shitty anime, you definitely learn to appreciate the good ones.
This is relevant, because most anime is shit, and not worth discussing. Thus, when we've finished discussing most of the anime we do like, what's left? ongoing shows & the occasional gem sifted out.
'n then there's the other shit besides anime.
mmos, irl, console games, whatever else there is, besides watching anime and discussing anime.
'n eventually you come to a dead forum, and it's no fun posting by yourself.
there's still plenty of knowledge to go around, it's just a matter of coaxing it outta ppl. or getting ppl to give a shit for a few minutes, I guess.
