last beta before a paid release shouldn't be gated to the extent BDO betas were.
I was just lucky I got a key, it was like a 2h window to get one off dankey shit.
it's not like they're going to change very much at this point either, considering release schedule's already set in stone for the 3rd (and 3d prior for paid headstart)
not being able to chat at all isn't pretty minor imo
i had to restart the game 3 times until the chat box finally popped up, totally nonexistant
and then world chat was overlaid overtop of regular chat despite nixing box2 and turning all non-party chat off, so I had to restart a 4th time.
when I leveled up, worldchat appeared again despite being turned off so the chat was a massive garbled mess, restart 5th time, no chat window
restart 2 more times to get it back
the lighting is weird af
dark & little contrast when you're behind your character
and then your maximum bloom hair lights up the world like a lantern if you play top-down

witch skills at least are a little.. disingenuous idk.
like shift asd teleport/dodges you but shift + lmb/rmb are atk skills.. so you have to come to complete halt before attempting to cast shit or you'll burn stamina and blink somewhere else instead
for any like, arpg/action mmo it's weird to me that you'd put movement + non movement on the same base modifier (shift), though at least you can interrupt casts with dodge
i liked the witch skills, apart from the class feeling fumbly as fuck, the skills were cool, and maybe it's just a matter of time to get used to that bullshit
but the overall impression i've got is that it's a typical kr pile of shit with gfx over function, and they don't even do that well.
So much of the ingame shit is just unexplained and having to google guides from ppl who played KR isn't good design.
Nodes don't seem to work, or at least I couldn't figure it out. There's some random npc favor/rank me up to fuck me in the back shed dating system. Stamina, strength, some other stat thing you literally level by afking autopathed in a circle.
A lot of the ingame shit hinges on connecting nodes to things which is gated by npc favor + energy + ???
Just lots of tiny little things I really find obnoxious and poor design. Like trade being ingame despite items you can sell on the marketplace being utterly untradable person to person. Even the process to trade someone is obnoxious, you gotta shift into mouse mode, try'n hump their character because the goddamn context menu doesn't appear otherwise, and then click trade instead of something simple like rclicking party menu.
Horses would be cool if the bloody npcs would sell me lasoos. Stable dude doesnt. General npc didn't.
There's obv a lot of detailed work put into it but there's like jack shit ingame explaining it.
even the horrid quest ui pisses me off. It's like b&s where it shifts you into a new screen entirely like you're reading some VN where the only options are to spam R until the faggot in front of you quits spamming his same 4 lines that have nothing to do with the quest text at hand. and then spam R some more because the default is to repeat the dialogue.
