Calc I/II are some of the best classes I ever took in college. That is actually when math stops being dumb and starts being interesting.

To some I could imagine, but it's just mindless for me to spend hours upon hours just for homework. It's not the difficulty but the longevity.

Sure, I can see that. The time investment is hard to appreciate when you are actually in the middle of it.

You won't start appreciating it until you are out in the field doing actual paid work. Having the experience of spending several hours trying to solve a single problem with different approaches is actually pretty relevant with my job lol.

I didn't think there was a lot (if at all any) of difficult mathematics that played a role into software engineering.

Got me a bit confused there.

I didn't find Calc I all that difficult besides the time it took. Calc II could be a different story but I haven't searched that depth just yet and I don't really plan to.

I have enough problem solving to do with my job with all the troubleshooting on the mechanic point of view.

Was pretty excited last week with my transfer acceptance to Texas A&M because I, too, want to pursue a degree in software engineering.

It's not that I hate the work of being a mechanic, it's just the people around me are utter buffoons.
