I got it the other day with the pre order

hoping it is ok. Only tales game I played before was phantasia, lol

none of them since have rly felt like phantasia did to me, they've really departed from that.
it's more like starocean 4 combat with more emphasis on comboing & elemental weaknesses.
rewards dodging/blocking but because of the shitty camera/targeting system it quickly becomes a clusterfuck of spamming skills because you cant see shit and (at least so far in hard) there's not much point to prioritizing technically precise play over button mash.

the soundtrack is great and what i heard of the english dub was passable.

I'd heard that the bonus dlc was only grudgingly free because of a prior promise or something like that so they probably squirreled it away to reduce visibility but still technically fulfill their promise for appearance's sake.

I wasn't terribly thrilled to hear that...and I doubt it is going to be remedied.

Though to be fair I knew about it before buying, so my fault if I hate it

yeah its locked to 30fps atm because of engine issues. to their credit they tried it at 60 but it wasn't stable for reasons beyond me. 30 looks okay though.
subs can be toggled on/off in the settings menu, and you choose dub language every time you hard reset the game client.
