sasuke didnt kill naruto, and he awakened a more powerful version than even itachi did.
i think that requirement was bogus.

He didn't kill him, but he severly severed the bond they had in the original series. Remember when they fought between the two statues of the hokage and madara. It was raining at the end and Naruto was unconscious. That was the moment I felt (personally) that Sasuke did enough to break the bond in order to fulfill the requirement to awaken the mangekyo. But that was always what I thought. I could be way off on that one.

I don't believe he had the mandekyo until Itachi gave him the eyes. Remember then he touched Sasukes forehead before he died. Transferred the jujitsu then. Naruto only helped Sasuke get the third sharingan on hes eye.

And now Sasuke will be even more badass when he comes back into the series because he got Itachi's eyes transplanted to him. Like Madara

idk, madara or itachi (i dont remember which one) said, ONLY by killing ur closest friend or w/e will u be able to fully awaken it.
if u are right, then its really lame how they would phrase that just to come in later and say it wasnt required.
all they really had to do was break the bond in another way.


whatever though, naruto just captured the nine tails chakra... he just became even more of a monster xD

I think friend was loosely used. More like someone close to you, comrade, so on. Which was Itachi, who Sasuke did end up killing. Itachi set Sasuke up to kill him to gain the mangekyo. He was Sauske's goal, and someone close to him.

The curse Itachi put on Sasuke before he died I think made the eyes more powerful.

Anime I believe. I haven't read the manga.
But once Sasuke gets he's brothers eyes, doesnt he power up X10?

I thought thats how Madara got so strong. Original eyes get weak, however if you take someone elses, who has mangeko, you power up hardcore and dont have the side effects of going blind/
