yes you are stupid you wouldn't gain as much power as one via hogkyou, maybe a slight power up...if he hollowfied himself, he wouldn't be #2 on the top espada list. in the flashback, aizen says he'll give barragan more power if he follows him.. the only way to make a him stronger is by hollowification...plus, arrancars don't release for long periods of time for no reason, just like how people don't stay in their bankais for extended periods of time..
