I can honestly say I experience it the same before and after reading the manga.  I picked up the manga when it was still at the 4 pillars and watched the anime up until the grimmjow fight before being cought up.  If it was an anime you actually have to think about then I would say yes, but honestly since bleach is so simple you don't lose anything by knowing the story ahead of time.

If anything I think the anticipation of wanting to see what you read in the manga happen in the anime makes it the better way to go. I love reading ahead and saying, "Man I can't wait to see this in the anime!"
