Intellectually stimulating shows are something that makes you think deeper into the storyline. It leaves things to be interpreted. There are many animes that can be taken in a multitude of ways depending on your perspective. This in itself is the very definition of "intellectually stimulating". If you've never chosen to watch an anime that does this, cool. It exists though.

If you can't understand a show within one episode, yet shows the entirety of the season in that flashback/first episode/etc. This is popular in movies and anime. Only less than 10% do it properly, but when they do... it's the very definition of this thread.

Please, do not post on this thread again. You have shown nothing but arrogance and ignorance. If you can't find an anime that is "intellectually stimulating" it means you yourself can't grasp the subject.

If you watch Legend of The Galactic Heroes, you'll notice this entire anime is intellectually stimulating. It's boring as fuck though.

Me calling him stupid was uncalled for, I just had given up on trying to make him see reason. I have yet to see an anime that put me in deep thought, I've been blown away by an ending, or impressed with the story-telling, but I have yet to see an anime that's made me reflect on what I saw, even for an hour. I don't consider something to be intellectually stimulating if it doesn't make me think (which he took as me being too dumb to see a deeper meaning). It seemed impossible for him to understand that, and yes, I was out of line in attacking him. I'm just horribly bias against narcissistic people who conduct themselves like he has. It's fine to disagree with me, this is an opinion based question and opinions are going to differ. I didn't think he sounded stupid, I see where he's coming from, I just disagree with him. Stooping as low as attacking someone's personal appearance over something so trivial is usually a strong indication of a weak constitution and lack of morals. Only the weakest of people lower themselves to that. The icing on the cake there is that he doesn't have a picture of himself available to the public. I don't see how he can have the gall to attack my personal appearance when he's too self conscious to have a picture of himself for the world to see.

He also seemed petty offended by the "kid" comment. I wasn't literally calling him a child and age isn't a factor to me. Once again, his arrogance and black and white view of the world made it impossible for him to see that. He could be 13 or 70 and it wouldn't make a difference, all that matters is how he presents himself. Unfortunately, he presented himself like as an arrogant egomaniac, one unable to hear an opinion that differs from his own without eventually resulting to petty and pointless personal attacks.
