Blackbeard was a real pirate in the early 18th century. His real name is Teach too and would explain where Oda got his inspiration from.

Before Luffy left the Island where he trained for Haki. There was no Hawk on any of his animal friends.
There was a Crocodile, Lion, Gorilla and Tiger.
Those are the ones I can remember. Unless It's the animals he killed developIng thise skills.
There's really no point looking at his attacks and what infulenced them because I am more interested of who's going to be the new Crew member.

snake strike might be fast
or something who knows but we all know how oda likes the puns
