well i assume soul society was preparing for the war, so everyone should be somewhat stronger. and even though toushirou didn't kill luppy, technically he did defeat him. but its also true that luppy was just a replacement for grimmjow, and grimmjow beat him in lke 2 seconds. was luppy really that weak.. ah so much thinking.

That would have to be the most calm dignified fight ever. Wonder what would happen if Byuyaka ever really got pushed though? Would he lose his cool if he was at a disadvantage?

I couldn't even imagine his expression if he was at a disadvantage, just so used to seeing him having the upper hand.

so now that ichigo is defeated and dying, will zangetsu or his hollow self show up?

Remember what his hollow self said before he vanished? was something like "if you really want to control my power then don't die until i show up again".
I imagine that when that happens he'll learn to use the hollow transformation without a time limit and even become stronger while wearing the mask.

yes but thas is like the opposite of whats happening.
i know something will change regarding the time limit soon, but it seems insignificant to me.

Perhaps some kind of twist where the hollow does take over due to Ichigo's weakened state. At some point the hollow becomes a threat to someone Ichigo cares about and he suddenly overpowers it? Don't know though, it seems unlikely that the hollow would go on trying to save Orihime which would sort of sidetrack the plot...
