frame by frame animation though... you gotta respect that... the insane time and effort come on pretty awesome
and that western style manga influence you see in ashita no joe and gundam were a huge influence
i dunno how you're using the term moe but imo the 80s invented moe but their resources were different
computer aided coloring wasn't even really all that widespread til disney took off in the 90s
