Who plugs Hdmi cable and just does computer to tv to watch there anime ?

I'm starting to realize tversity sucks, seeing as I can only stream like avi's to ps3 then to tv , subs won't show up on mkvs streamed to ps3 to tv for some reason , so why not do it the easy way and buy a long hdmi cord and just go straight from comp that plays everything to tv >_<

Anyone here hook there comp straight to tv though and watch that way ? , I have a few questions :/
