Idk, maybe you're right. I can't think of any instances where a single anime episode was made up of just 1 manga chapter, so I'm not sure how long exactly they would translate to be. Still, I'm content with a 17 minute episode, so if they could pull that off I would definitely be all for it. I recall some of the episodes being like 18-19 minutes or something like that.
i agree that theres alot of stuff they can cut out of the show, like all that needles walking or jumping through trees.. cause i dont think anybody really cares to see them jumping from branch to branch...
but thats how tv shows are, especially animation based off of manga/comics/books/ect. you need like 12 frames to make 1 second. so if you think about it logically and think that the episodes for tv stations ammount to 30 mins including commercials/openings/endings u need to add all that extra stuff the manga doesnt show
