Yes and no he isent from a filler episode but he isent a main character

um ya he is from a filler episode since they NEVER ended up in the menos forest in the manga so everything that happened down there was filler episodes

Just so you know, it's called a side character not a filler character

Main characters - Chad, Uryuu, Ichigo, Rukia, etc. etc.

Side Characters - The rest of their school friends

Filler Characters - nova, cloud, ririn, ashido

didn't ashido have a friend that he couldn't save? maybe he couldn't save him from Muramasa, Muramasa may have been his or his friends' Zanpakutou, something to think about

the friend he couldn't save was shown in a flashback of which was killed by a hollow and he has carried its skull with him ever since
