Ok, TOO MANY FUCKING OPINIONS. I don't get it anymore:

Espada > Vasto Lorde
Espada < Vasto Lorde
Espada = Vasto Lorde

espada 0-6 = vasto lorde
vasto lorde > 7-9

A Vasto Lorde is an arrancar with a Fatman.

Obviously none of the espada are Vasto Lordes, as the most powerful of them (stark) can only produce in iddy-biddy pistol.

ya but that conjecture on their number was based on what they knew of HM before Aizen strolled over with the hogyouku

and afaik we don't know if the hogyouku just FF's a hollow into whatever they could become i.e. adjuchas or VL, or if it takes them to VL no matter what, or if it takes them to whatever Aizen wants depending on the spirit energy he releases at the time etc.

Until Kubo decides to give us more info this debate will stay a cyclical "U...NOU" argument

The Hogyoku only releases their mask -- making them an arrancar.
They must reach the level of Vasto Lorde on their own.
