for me 12 was the worst.. I fucking hated the battle system, even 13's battle system that everyone bitches about is way better IMO.
system aside, 12's story wasn't too shabby.
I replayed 10 recently (AKA as a college educated adult) and found myself enjoying some of the more subtle things in the story.
I never finished 9 but it was too...I dunno. Felt like it would have been a good DS or PSP game as a side story but didn't feel like a mjaor release to me.
8 is only decent with the SDT, and even then you still find yourself laughing more than actually enjoying the plot.....
