i thought so too.. i imagined he win tournament ez, hears the whole story of rebecca, gives her the flare flare fruit and asks her to join his crew, seekin freedom. then at first rebecca refuses, but later, when she talks to her grandfather who tells her to go, she accepts and becomes the 10th member of the straw hat pirates

Why the fuck would luffy give it to rebecca? The fruit reminds him of his brother, it's not something he will hand to anyone because he feels generous.

Did you not see how unreasonable he was to friends and allies just to SAVE ace? He isn't going to give the fruit up, if that was the last thing about ace he can treasure.

I always thought Sanji would be the one to get the fruit, with him already having fire-like attacks such as Diable Jamble

i think this would be quite normal for ruffy, everyone thinking its rly important to him etc then he just gives it to another person, with the thought that hes relieved, knowing that the flare flare fruit is in good hands?
i mean what can he do else? leave the flare flare fruit in his ship, and remember the pain whenever he walks past? ^^

He would talk to it, you know his habit with food. It's something he cant give up to anyone other than family
